NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced its new curriculum for the 2026–27 academic session for Classes 9 to 12, bringing major changes in how students learn and are assessed. The revised framework is aligned with the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023, focusing on making education more relevant, application-based, and less dependent on rote memorisation.
A key highlight of the update is the structured rollout of curriculum changes across classes, with Class 9 receiving a newly designed scheme of studies. The board has also conducted orientation sessions and webinars to help schools adapt smoothly to the revised system, ensuring both teachers and students understand the shift in approach. The new curriculum emphasises conceptual clarity, interdisciplinary learning, and flexibility in subject choices, allowing students to tailor their academic paths. It also aims to develop critical thinking, creativity, and real-world problem-solving skills, marking a transition from traditional exam-focused education to a more holistic model.
