CBSE Clarifies Post Result Portal Functioning, Over 1.6 Lakh Students Filed Requests for 3.8 Lakh Answer Books

CBSE has clarified that its Post Result Services Portal functioned smoothly throughout the verification and re evaluation period from June 2 to June 7, 2026. The Board said over 1.6 lakh students successfully submitted requests related to more than 3.8 lakh answer books and explained why some candidates encountered the 'Roll Number Not Found' message.

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) provided an explanation of the CBSE Post Result Services Portal following complaints from students and parents that were posted on social media. The Board posted a statement on their official account on June 8 stating that the application period for verification and re-evaluation requests was available from June 2 and June 7, 2026 and was fully functional.

CBSE stated that the IT services of the Portal were provided under the supervision of government technical agencies and teams from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The Board stated that during the application period, more than 1.6 lakh candidates submitted requests for more than 3.8 lakh answer sheets, which indicated that the Post Result Services System was used extensively.

CBSE stated that on the Portal, dedicated cybersecurity teams ensured the protection of the system from malicious traffic and cyber threats. The Board stated that helpdesk teams and grievance redressal were available for students during the entire process. This statement was issued after the CBSE stated that the Portal was subjected to cyber attacks during the application process.

Explanation of the 'Roll Number Not Found' Message

Regarding one of the most frequently asked questions, CBSE has clarified that the message 'Roll Number Not Found' only appeared if a candidate did not successfully apply in the first stage of the post-result process within the Answer Books Photocopy Application Window. The Board has emphasised that students could only apply to the Verification and Re-evaluation process if they had received the scanned copies of their evaluated answer books.

This explanation is important because numerous students complained on social media that they were unable to access the Verification and Re-evaluation process. The CBSE has stated that the eligibility requirements were communicated in advance and were made available through official notifications and on the portal.

CBSE has previously stated that on May 26, it had received more than four lakh requests for the first stage of the post result process, in which scanned copies of answer books were made available to students. In this first stage, students were given access to their evaluated answer scripts before they were able to apply for the Verification of Issues and Re-evaluation. The June 8 communication was about the Verification and Re-evaluation process and should not be compared with the earlier requests for scanned copies.

CBSE has said that it has a commitment to a transparent, student-friendly and seamless post-result process and will continue to address valid concerns through official support.
