CBSE Paper Leak: Warning against Fake News issued

Strict action will be taken against those spreading fake news and rumours.

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued a warning against the rumours and fake information about ongoing exams on Monday. Strict action will be taken against those spreading fake news and rumours.

CBSE annual examinations of Class X and XII have commenced for this year. Some people are misleading gullible students by claiming that exam papers have been leaked. They claim to have access to paper and demand money from students and parents.

According to the official notice, CBSE is regularly intimating Delhi Police Special Cell (MAC) to take stern action against persons involved in circulating fake news using social media platforms under various provisions of the IPC and IT Act.

The board has also warned the students to refrain from spreading fake news. Doing so would result in imposing unfair means and various provisions of IPC against the student.

“Parents are also requested to guide their wards not to believe such rumours and not indulge in any such activity which hampers the smooth conduct of Board examinations,” It said.
