Schools can access the video through the Video Tutorial option available under the Headmaster Login on the portal. CBSE has asked school authorities to organise the screening in a way that allows staff members to participate without affecting essential school activities.

Why Has CBSE Introduced the Sensitisation Session?

The module is intended to help school personnel better understand the needs, challenges and requirements of Children with Special Needs.

CBSE said that sensitising staff is an important part of creating an educational environment where students with special needs can receive appropriate, respectful and inclusive support. The initiative therefore focuses not only on awareness but also on encouraging more inclusive practices within schools.

Module Linked to PRASHAST Screening Initiative

The staff sensitisation programme forms part of the PRASHAST Screening Initiative being undertaken during the current academic year.

The initiative focuses on screening students for probable disabilities and facilitating timely intervention. CBSE has identified staff awareness about the needs of Children with Special Needs as an important component of this process.

CBSE Asks Schools to Ensure Maximum Participation

CBSE has asked principals and Heads of Schools of affiliated institutions to ensure maximum participation in the module.

Schools have also been advised to conduct the screening without disrupting essential school activities. The Board has stated that the number of schools viewing the module will be visible at the national level, allowing participation to be tracked.

CBSE's Focus on Inclusive School Environments

The October 7 initiative is aimed at strengthening awareness of inclusive education beyond the classroom. Since teachers, administrators and support personnel interact with students in different settings, CBSE has emphasised the importance of ensuring that the wider school staff understands the requirements of Children with Special Needs.

The Board's latest directive seeks to contribute towards a more inclusive, accessible and supportive school environment for CwSN.
