What is the CBSE List of Candidates (LOC)?

The LOC is the official process through which the CBSE-affiliated schools communicate to the CBSE about the candidate details of the students who are eligible to appear for the board examinations (of class 10th and 12th, in this case). In this process, the schools are required to enter and verify the information asked by the CBSE, regarding the candidate and the subject offered. It is essential that registration is done accurately as incorrect registration may cause problems to the candidate in the further process of the examination.

The CBSE has especially instructed the schools to include all the eligible candidates of the school, to check the subject combinations of the candidates offered, to enter correct candidate data, and to pay the examination fee of the candidates within the stipulated time. The CBSE has also instructed principals of the schools to ensure that the staff responsible for entering the data understand the submission process.

How to Submit CBSE LOC 2027 by Schools?

The LOC submission process is handled by the schools and not by individual students. The CBSE website has the examination registration portal of the school, which the school can use for the process. The general procedure is as follows:

  • Go to the official website of the CBSE.
  • Look for the LOC submission or examination circular.
  • Access the online submission portal of CBSE using the authorized credentials of the school.
  • Enter/review the data of the candidates eligible to appear for class 10th and 12th board examinations.
  • Check if the data of the candidate is demographically correct and compare the subject selections against the data of the school.
  • Ensure that all the eligible candidates of the school are included and the examination fee is paid within the due date.
  • Complete the submission process.

What Happens if a School Missed the Deadline?

Schools have to complete the student submission process within the regular-fee window. If the regular-fee window is missed, CBSE has stated that late fees will be charged from October 22 to October 30, 2026. The late-fee amount will be ₹2,000 per candidate. Schools need to confirm the above-mentioned information by referring to CBSE’s official communication before processing the payment.

It is advisable that schools should not postpone taking the necessary action until the last day of the late-fee window. They should also check the CBSE website for last-minute notifications or changes. Students and their families should contact their respective schools for clarity on their status, if they have concerns.

Official CBSE LOC Update

The examination circulars page includes the LOC notification and other reminders. These official notifications should be referenced before trusting social media posts and/or other unofficial notifications.
