CBSE Launches Psycho Social Counseling Support for Class 10 & 12 Students from January 6, 2026

CBSE starts free psycho-social counseling from Jan 6, 2026 for Class 10 & 12 students to manage exam stress. Services include 24×7 helpline and expert tele-counseling.

New Delhi. : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the launch of the first phase of its annual free Psycho-Social Counseling Services for students appearing in Class X and Class XII board examinations. The services will begin on 06 January 2026 and continue till 01 June 2026.

This initiative aims to help students cope with examination-related stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges, ensuring they approach the CBSE Theory Examinations starting from 17 February 2026 with confidence, balance, and mental clarity.

Key Features of CBSE Psycho-Social Support

1. 24×7 Toll-Free IVRS Support (1800-11-8004)

Students can access round-the-clock assistance in Hindi and English through the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS). The service offers guidance on:

  • Stress-free exam preparation
  • Time and stress management
  • Frequently asked CBSE-related queries
  • Important contact information

2. Tele-Counseling Services (9:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday)
Students and parents can speak directly with a panel of 73 trained professionals, including:

  • School Principals
  • Counselors and Special Educators
  • Qualified Psychologists

Out of these, 61 counselors are based in India, while 12 counselors are located in Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman, and the UAE, providing diverse and global perspectives. The services are offered on a voluntary basis.

3. Digital Mental Health Resources
CBSE has also made available a range of digital resources on:

  • Stress management
  • Effective study strategies
  • Emotional well-being

These resources can be accessed through the official CBSE website and are designed to be student-friendly, concise, and easily accessible.

CBSE has urged students and parents to actively utilize these services, reaffirming the Board’s commitment to supporting students’ psycho-social well-being throughout the Class X and XII examination cycle.
