New Delhi, January 15, 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the formation of a committee to design and implement a structured Parenting Calendar for the academic session 2025-26. This initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between schools and parents, addressing the evolving needs of students across diverse age groups and educational contexts.
The objectives of the Parenting Calendar include:
- Facilitating effective parent-teacher interactions.
- Supporting the diverse needs of students, including adolescents, children with special needs (CWSN), and students in early and middle age groups.
- Establishing a consistent communication framework to address critical milestones, such as exam results and behavioral changes.
- Providing timely support and intervention through structured engagement.
The committee comprises eminent educators and principals from leading schools across India, with Ms. Anuradha Joshi, Principal of Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Delhi, serving as the Convener. The members include:
- Dr. Swati Popat Vats, President, Podar Education Network, Mumbai
- Ms. Rekha Krishnan, Principal, Vasant Valley School, Delhi
- Ms. Manju Arif, Principal, Delhi Public School, Bangalore North
- Dr. Nivedita Ganguly, Principal, DAV International School, Ahmedabad
- Ms. Minakshi Kushwaha, Principal, Birla Vidya Niketan, Delhi
- Ms. Richa Agnihotri, Principal, Sanskriti School, Delhi
- Ms. Annie Koshy, Principal, St. Mary’s School, Delhi
- Dr. Paramjit Singh, Principal, Army Public School, Ambala Cantt
- Dr. Diganta Halder, Principal, Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti, Guwahati, Assam
The committee members are tasked with attending meetings, collaborating with the Convener, and formulating a comprehensive Parenting Calendar. The calendar will serve as a blueprint for consistent and effective communication between schools and parents, ensuring student well-being and academic success.
The committee's recommendations are expected to be submitted by March 15, 2025, and further details about meeting schedules will be communicated by CBSE in due course.
CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, "In today's dynamic educational landscape, the partnership between schools and parents is more critical than ever. This Parenting Calendar will play a pivotal role in fostering meaningful engagement and timely interventions for the holistic development of our students."
