CBSE Invites Schools to Join Ramakrishna Mission’s Values Education Programme

CBSE urges affiliated schools to explore the Ramakrishna Mission’s Values Education initiatives, including the Awakened Citizen Programme, AACT, and Awakening. The programmes aim to build character, values, and responsible citizenship among students.

New Delhi. : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited the heads of all affiliated institutions to explore and optionally adopt the Values Education Programme conducted by the Ramakrishna Mission, Delhi—an initiative aimed at nurturing character, values, and responsible citizenship among students.

This announcement follows CBSE Circulars Acad-44/2017 and Acad-76/2019, which highlighted the Awakened Citizen Programme, a structured values education framework for students and teachers.

Expanding its offerings, the Mission now provides:

  • Foundation of Citizenship Programme – Awakened Ambassador for Community Transformation (AACT)
A one-year abridged programme consisting of 16 interactive modules.

  • Awakening Programme
A five-year graded values education curriculum designed for primary school students.

Both programmes utilise a discussion-based, interactive learning approach, encouraging students to engage with real-life situations, evaluate choices, understand consequences, and build reflective thinking and responsible behaviour.
The core aim is to strengthen values, enhance decision-making skills, and support holistic character development.

Participation in these programmes is optional. Schools interested in implementing the Awakened Citizen Programme or the AACT initiative may contact:

  •  viva.gurugram@gmail.com
  •  awakenedchild.in@gmail.com
  • viva.rkmm.org

The Ramakrishna Mission will offer teacher training and resource material to all registered schools. CBSE has encouraged schools to formally register for smooth coordination and implementation.
