CBSE CTET 2026 LIVE: Exam Date Awaited, Admit Card Soon at ctet.nic.in; Correction Window Closes September 10
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schedule for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for 2026 is coming along, but there is one notable gap: new exam date. Admitting the CTET 2026 exam was previously scheduled for September 6, 2026, and the CBSE has postponed the exam; the new date has yet to be released on the CTET site. In anticipation of publishing the new date being published, applicants may take advantage of the application correction window, which is open till September 10, 2026.
The application correction window was re-opened on September 7. Candidates need to check their application details before the window closes. The latest updates published on the official site of the CTET include the notification for application correction dated September 2026.
CTET 2026 Exam Date: What Candidates Should Know
With the release of the new notification, the original date of notification by CBSE was for the CTET exam to be held on September 6, 2026. The same notification stated a two day window prior to the exam date for release of admit cards (examination date being September 6, 2026). That date has passed, and the CTET exam date is yet to be announced.
Some sources have suggested that the date of the CTET examination will likely be announced in October, though CBSE has not announced this on the CTET website date of October 8, 2026. Therefore, candidates should not consider this date as confirmed. The best way to confirm the release of the examination date is to visit the official webpage of CTET.
CTET 2026 Application Correction Window
Candidates who successfully filed the September 2026 application form may use the correction facility available in the official portal. CBSE has specified that no requests for corrections after the cut off date will be considered. Therefore, applicants should check and submit the final corrected form.
This is applicable to all candidates who made any mistakes while entering their personal, academic, or examination-related details while filling the application form.

CTET Admit Card 2026: When Will It Be Released?
The official date of publication of the CTET 2026 admit card is not available. The CTET city intimation slip is also not out, and according to the official page of the examination services, it will be published soon.
In accordance with the original schedule, an applicant should expect the CTET admit card to be released two days prior to the exam. Due to the change in the exam date, all applicants should wait for the revised timetable notified by CBSE, rather than basing on the speculative dates of the admit card given by some other sources. When released, candidates will be required to have their application details to download the hall ticket from the official website.
Changes in the CTET 2026 Exam Pattern
CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) is conducted for two levels of teaching, primary and upper primary.
- Level 1: The primary level includes teaching of classes I to V
- Level 2: The upper primary level includes teaching of classes VI to VIII.
- Candidates can appear for either one level or both.
Each paper consists of 150 questions and 150 marks. Paper Level 1 includes Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies. Paper Level 2 includes Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II and either Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Science (as per candidate’s choice).
What Should CTET Candidates Do Now?
There is no need to check for the admit card after applying. Candidates have to check the official website of the CTET for the revised examination date, city intimation slip and admit card after they have completed the required corrections before 10 September 2022. The important thing to note is that the date of 06 September 2022 is no longer the date that candidates have to prepare for. No other date should be considered official until the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) announces it.
For candidates preparing for government and other teaching jobs, the coming days are about being attentive to the official notices. The deadline for applying for the corrections is over and the schedule for the revised CTET is still not available.
