Why Did CBSE Conduct a Special Class 12 Examination for West Asia?
An extraordinary situation during the 2026 board examination cycle warranted the special examination. In the March-April 2026 board examination cycle, eligible CBSE Class 12 students from some West Asian countries were unable to take their board examinations due to the prevalent regional situation. Assessment schemes were instituted to finalize the results for those students. Later, an opportunity to evaluate these candidates by conducting an examination was facilitated by CBSE in October 2026.
Students from the following countries were beneficiaries of the special examination: Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The special examination was to provide an alternative opportunity for assessment and not to offer a regular supplementary examination to the CBSE students of West Asia.
