CBSE Class 12 Supplementary LOC Deadline Ends Today, Final Chance for Schools

The LOC submission window for the 2026 supplementary exam for CBSE Class 12 closes today, July 9, because the board has given a one-day extension. Students have to check with their schools if their names have been added to the List of Candidates. Students who miss the deadline today will not be able to take the supplementary exam that is scheduled for July 28.

CBSE Class 12 Supplementary LOC Deadline 2026 Ends Today

Today marks the last day for schools to submit candidate listings for the 2026 CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Examinations as part of the extended deadline. This year, schools had the deadline of July 8 to submit their candidate listings. In a notification dated July 7, CBSE stated that the deadline for the Listing of Candidates (LOC) for Regular Class 12 students was changed from July 8 to July 9. The board also stated that all conditions and stipulations of the previous notification will remain intact.

The latest news for students is clear: while schools may be expected to submit the LOC application, students must take the initiative and contact the school if they are eligible to write the supplementary exam.

Who Needs to Act Today?

LOC submission is the responsibility of the school and not the students. Today’s announcement is mainly applicable to:

  • Regular Class 12 students who are in the compartment category
  • Those who are eligible to improve in one subject
  • Candidates who fall under the 2026 CBSE Supplementary Exam policy

CBSE would particularly like schools to incorporate all eligible students in this extension, as names of students in the Supplementary Exam will be LOC-transmitted.

Where will Schools Submit the Letter of Clarification?

Schools will submit the Letter of Clarification (LOC) via the Pariksha Sangam portal on the official CBSE website. Schools will need to log in using their affiliation credentials to complete the process.  Students of CBSE should know that regular candidates cannot register on their own. If your name is not registered by the school, this will also impact your opportunity to appear in the supplementary exam.

CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Exam Date 2026

According to the official schedule by CBSE, the Class 12 Supplementary Exam 2026 will take place on 28th July, 2026. The schedule to download the admit card will also be notified by CBSE. Schools must check the details of the admit card and should notify the relevant CBSE regional office in case of discrepancies.

Examination Fee

The examination fee for the CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Exam 2026 will be as follows:

  • Schools in India: Rs 320 per subject
  • Schools in Nepal: Rs 1,100 per subject
  • Schools outside India: Rs 2,200 per subject

Schools in India will need to pay via debit/credit card/ net banking/ UPI.  CBSE has notified that Visually Impaired Class 12 students will be exempt from this examination fee. It is also important for schools to make the payment because LOC submitted without fee payment will not be accepted.

What Should Students Do Now?

Things have changed, and students should not expect their schools to automatically add their names. Call, message, or visit your school TODAY to make sure your name is in. Schools should check eligible students, their fee status, and do a final LOC print before the portal closes.

For students who cannot afford to lose another year in their academics, a small extension until July 9 is vital.

Conclusion

The extension for the CBSE Class 12 Supplementary LOC is a final opportunity for schools and students who have not yet been eligible to complete the process. The final date is July 9, 2026, so students should make sure their schools have added their names to the Candidates list. The supplementary exam is on July 28, and to avoid losing the opportunity, schools should pay the LOC fee and do the final submission as soon as possible.
