New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed colleges and universities to accept digital copy of Class 12 migration certificates as well as marksheet cum passing certificate of students available in Digi locker for admissions 2022. The board informed universities that these certificates with digital signatures of controller of examinations are ‘legally valid’. CBSE’s statement came after some universities asked students to submit a paper-printed copy of the migration certificate.
“It is come to the notice that certain universities are asking the students to submit paper printed copy of the migration certificate. Though, CBSE is supplying the printed copy to the students shortly, however, it is informed that documents i.e. Marksheet cum Passing Certificate available in Digi locker with digital signature are also legally valid and should be accepted by higher educational institutions,” read the notice.

CBSE declared Class 12 result 2022 on July 22 wherein the overall pass percentage remained 92.71%. “Immediately after declaration of result, marksheet cum passing certificate and migration certificate of students have been made available in their Digi locker. Both the documents available in the Digi locker are digitally signed by the controller of examinations,” the board added.
Earlier University Grants Commission (UGC) also directed all education institutions to accept the digital copy of the certificates with QR code and digital signatures made available on Digi locker.
