New Delhi. : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a fresh directive asking all affiliated schools across the country to participate in a year-long celebration marking 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’. The commemorative activities will run from November 2025 to 7 November 2026.
Month-Wise Activity Plan Released
CBSE has provided a detailed month-wise action plan for schools, shared in the circular as Annexure-1, outlining a variety of activities designed to foster:
- National pride
- Cultural unity
- A deeper emotional connection to India's heritage
- Collective harmony among students and teachers
These activities will include creative, academic, cultural, and community-oriented engagements that highlight the historical value of Vande Mataram and its role in India’s national consciousness.
Schools Asked to Ensure Active Participation
All CBSE-affiliated schools have been instructed to:
- Implement the planned activities every month beginning November 2025
- Engage students, teachers, and school communities in large numbers
- Upload monthly reports and documentation of the celebrations to the designated CBSE platform
The Board emphasises that this nationwide initiative is intended to celebrate the strength of India’s diversity and unify educational institutions in a common patriotic expression.
CBSE Calls This a Landmark Cultural Initiative
Dr. Praggya M. Singh, Professor & Director, who issued the circular, stated that the year-long observance is designed to help students develop a deeper understanding of India’s national legacy and values. She urged schools to ensure smooth and meaningful execution of the month-wise plan.
