Haryana: Springer Nature, an international publisher, has published a book on 'Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System for Policy Decision Support,' edited by Dr. Manish Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Geography, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh, Prof. R.B.Singh, Delhi University, and Prof. D.K. Tripathi, Principal, Rana Pratap PG College, Sultanpur which was released by Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Haryana.

While complimenting the editors, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar remarked that this book will be an invaluable resource for understanding and solving diverse physical and human issues for policy development related to sustainable planning and management.

This book covers the scientific knowledge base on various physical and socio-economic issues among scholars, planners, and decision makers for policy development and research regarding sustainable development. Elaborating further the book demonstrates the importance of modern spatial decision support tools of remote sensing and GIS to better understand sustainable development processes and policy development.

The book discusses case studies and provides new insights for case studies as to how remote sensing and GIS-based decision support systems contribute to understanding physical and socio-economic processes and developing pragmatic policy for sustainable development.
