BIMTECH Introduces Three-Part FDP Series on Generative AI, Finance Research, and HR Technology
Greater Noida, May 11, Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) is introducing a series of Faculty Development Programmes focusing on the latest trends in Generative Artificial Intelligence, Finance Research, and Human Resource Technology. The online program is targeted at participants, PhD candidates, and researchers wanting to stay ahead of the game in academics and the corporate sector.
The launch comes at an important time as business schools in India are feeling the heat to synchronise patterns of research and teaching in business with the latest technological changes. BIMTECH, a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), is one of the few business schools in India to be endowed with this world recognized accreditation. The FDP is a manifestation of the determined plans of a business school to enhance research and teaching of technological applications to business across disciplines.
Advancements in Research Methodologies in Finance
The first program in this series, "Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methods in Finance,” was organized from May 1-3, 2026, conducted online it comprised 15 hours. The objective of this Faculty Development Program (FDP) was to enhance participant’s research skills which would help them in publishing articles in high-impact finance journals.
The participants were trained in designing and conducting qualitative research as well as coding and thematic analyses, and Event Study Methodology. Event Study Methodology is a popular quantitative research method used to assess the impact of corporate events on the price of the contested stock. Other methods and techniques the FDP participants learned in text analyses of corporate disclosures and time series analyses of financial econometrics using ARIMA, ARCH, and GARCH methods were incorporated in the program as well.
The program's focus on the ethical and responsible use of AI while doing research distinguishes it from other FDPs. With many AI-based research writing tools and analysis platforms surfacing in academic research, the program addressed the various challenges of maintaining research integrity and the appropriate use of citation, thus assisting for the first time in the research process, doctoral students, as well as experienced, academic staff.
HR Experts Adapt In a Tech-Driven Workplace
The first of a series of programs runs from May 4-8, 2025, and is dedicated to the study of technology as a disruptive force in Human Resource Management. It features 12 hourly, daily webinars, and focuses on tech-enabled HR systems, the development of organizational capability, and emergent trends in organizational HR research and studies.
Research and study-based HR management disciplines at the master's level aim to fill the void many post-graduate management degrees create as they offer HR electives, while few of them take a research oriented lens of technological disruptions and how the discipline and field of design and practice is restructuring due to them. BIMTECH's FDP facilitates the breakdown of, and thoughtful discourse on, the available HR tools and processes, while allowing the user to make the analysis on the current and evolving nature of HR.
The diploma is suitable for instructors wanting to revise their lectures and for HR professionals who wish to strengthen their knowledge and experience.
Generative AI Takes Centre Stage
The most eagerly awaited program in the series is a two-day online FDP entitled "Data, Decision Intelligence, and Learning in the Generative AI Paradigm," to be held on May 16 and 17, 2026. This program will respond to the growing impact of Generative AI on education, research, and business decision-making. Delegates will become familiar with concepts such as Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompt Engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, natural language processing, and AI-driven data analytics. The program includes hands-on sessions with leading platforms like Claude, Replit, Gamma, and other new AI applications.
For students and faculty who have used AI tools in an unstructured way, this FDP will offer a more organised understanding of the research on these tools and their operational uses. Dr. Prabina Rajib, Director of BIMTECH, has said that by organizing these programs, the institute proposes to provide a place to foster interdisciplinary education, applied research, and the merger of education and business. The FDP series is intended for a wide audience: faculty members, researchers, PhD students, practitioners across sectors, and others interested in AI and analytics.
