Varanasi: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) recently announced to give six thousand rupees per month under the fellowship program for foreign students, but it is not that BHU is only kind to foreign students. BHU is also sensitive towards local students. The university has launched a loan scheme for a large number of poor students from Purvanchal and Bihar, under which the university will give a loan of 60 thousand rupees to poor and meritorious students in the form of separate instalments. Also, the loan is free of Interest rate and no guarantor will be required. Not only this, the student has to return this loan when the student completes his studies and starts working.

BHU Dean Student Welfare Prof. Kaushlendra Pratap Singh said that from this time the university has started a scheme for the poor and meritorious students studying in BHU campus. Under this scheme, every year 12 thousand rupees will be given to the student as a loan. For example, if a student takes advantage of this facility in the first year of graduation, then he will be given 60 thousand rupees for the whole 5 years till his post graduation. For the return of this loan, there will be an agreement with the student that after the completion of studies, when he gets a job, he will return this loan in instalments.

Apply this way, the entire cost of studies will be zero:

Pro. Kaushalendra explains that to take advantage of this scheme, the student will have to get a bus recommendation on behalf of two teachers of his faculty. The recommender or the parent of the student against this loan will not be held responsible or as guarantor of the loan refund in any way. With this loan, examination fees, tuition fees for the entire student life of poor students will be recovered and the entire education will be almost free.

1 crore 20 lakhs have been approved for 1000 students:

Pro. Kaushalendra told NBT Online that this scheme is being started this year. The target of this year has been fixed to give the benefit of this scheme to 1000 students and for this a fund of one crore twenty lakh rupees has also been approved. To take advantage of this scheme, students just have to contact the faculty head of their department.
