Bengaluru: Azim Premji University will host an online webinar titled Introduction to Political Economy and India’s Trade Story on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The session brings together conceptual discussion and historical analysis to help participants understand how political and economic forces shape trade and development.
The webinar is structured as two connected talks. The first, led by Srishti Yadav, introduces Political Economy as a field of study, outlining its central questions, research approaches, and contemporary debates.The second talk, by Arpan Ganguly, traces India’s trade story across key phases; from colonial trade policies and pre-independence debates, through the planning era of the 1950s to 1980s, to post-1991 liberalisation and recent developments.
