New Delhi: The Azim Premji Foundation has announced the Azim Premji Scholarship 2025, aimed at supporting girl students from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue higher education in India. The scholarship is part of the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to improving equity and quality in education, especially for students who face financial barriers after school.
The initiative is open to female students who have completed Class 10 and Class 12 as regular students from government schools or colleges in eligible Indian States and Union Territories. Applicants must have secured admission in the first year of an undergraduate degree or diploma programme for the academic session 2025–26.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for the Azim Premji Scholarship 2025, applicants must:
- Be a girl student
- Have passed Class 10 and Class 12 as a regular student from a government school or college
- Belong to one of the eligible States or Union Territories
- Be admitted to the first year of a recognised undergraduate degree or diploma course (2 to 5 years duration)
- Be enrolled in a government or credible private college or university anywhere in India
Scholarship Amount
- Selected candidates will receive an annual scholarship of ₹30,000, which can be used to support tuition fees, books, accommodation, and other academic expenses.
Application Process and Deadline
- The scholarship is open through online applications only. Interested and eligible candidates must submit their applications on or before January 31, 2026.
- The Azim Premji Foundation has stated that the scholarship is designed to reduce dropout rates among girls after Class 12 and encourage them to continue higher education with confidence and financial support.
