Kurukshetra, March 23, 2023: On Wednesday, Department of Geography of Kurukshetra Unversity has successfully conducted a quiz competition in the conference hall over an occasion of world water day. The competition with the motive to aware students about the importance of water was designed by the department. Registrar of KU Dr. Sanjeev Sharma was invited as a chief guest in the competition. The chairman of the department  Dr. Omvir Singh commence the competition with an electrifying speech. In his speech, he said, there is a need and more importantly requirement to save water. Scarcity of water is occurring by our deed; its time to change our behavior towards it, this is the only way we can save it and sustain our upcoming generation.

It was an entirely open competition; as per rule one student representative from each department has invited for the participation. Moderated by PhD. Scholar Kirti Desai, the quiz competition was held with two rounds and a final round.In both rounds students from the department of geography acquired lead than other students. However, in final round a student from the department of mathematics rolled over first position. But, in the end of competition judgment inclined towards the student of geography department as on having high points than other competitors.

After event, the winner of the completion Shalini Ojha is awarded by the Registrar of KU with an award and sum of Rs. 1500/- and other participants received the certificate of appreciation. On this occasion, Dr. M.S Jaglan, Dr. S.P Kaushik, Dr. Rajeshwari, Dr. Suman Banger, Dr. Anju Gupta and students were present.
