Art and Craft workshop On The Occasion of International Day of Disabled Persons

The National Gallery of Modern Art in collaboration with Special Olympics and Citizens for Welfare has organised one-day art and craft workshop on the occasion of International Day of Disabled persons.

 
New Delhi. : The National Gallery of Modern Art in collaboration with Special Olympics and Citizens for Welfare has organised one-day art and craft workshop on the occasion of International Day of Disabled persons. 
 
Smt. Mallika Nadda, Chairperson, Special Olympic Bharat has chaired the inaugural event. Sri Ajay Bhatt, Hon’ Minister of State for Defence and Tourism as Chief Guest. Sri Vinod Sonkar, MP (Lok Sabha), Sri Y K Sinha, Chief Information Commissioner , Sri Adwaita Gadanayak, Director General, NGMA have participated. 
 
The workshop is organised to promote art integrated learning among children with special needs. There were seven mentors to assist the children during worshop. The students were excited and presented their creative skills through brush and colours. later they were presented with participation certificates. 
The objective of the workshop is to introduce the children to eminent Artist to promote Creativity  among specially abled artists. It has provided a platform to children on national level who perform good in workshop. Provide artistic opportunities to the children who have keen interest in Art and  Craft. 
 
Around 50 special children have participated along with their parents. A team of 15 members as organisers with some volunteers have assisted. 
 Ms. Riddhi Malhotra, spl Badminton player from Jharkhand. Mr. Patrick Gomez, gold medalist at world games london have participated.
