Architecture & Ekistics students deliberate and expound the vision of ViksitBharat@2047

The students expressed their confidence and optimism for realizing the vision of “ViksitBharat@2047”.

New Delhi :- As part of the ViksitBharat@2047 initiative, students from the Faculty of Architecture & Ekistics, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) visited the Ideation Centre set up at JMI’s FTK-Centre for Information Technology and enthusiastically shared their ideas on their vision of ViksitBharat@2047.

A total of 10 students from the Department of Architecture and Department of Design & Innovation participated in the event accompanied by 3 faculty members for an interactive session on ideas of young minds to achieve this goal of Viksit Bharat. 

The main focus of the students remained on the idea of India becoming a 'Vishwaguru' in all aspects. The ideas ranged from strengthening the Indian ethos and cultural heritage, ensuring a prosperous, equitable, healthy, inclusive, and just society, bridging the gap between villages and cities, adoption of sustainable models of 'smart' villages and 'smart' cities, building world-class architecture and infrastructure which is also climate resilient and sustainable, using concepts of 'green buildings' and 'biomimicry', well-designed accessible public spaces, use of nature-based materials and nature-based strategies for product and settlement design,  and use of appropriate tools and technologies like automation and Artificial Intelligence.  They also emphasized the importance of a robust skill-focused education system, research, and cutting-edge technologies to achieve the coveted goals. The relevance of user-centric design and universal design focusing on the needs of marginalized people was also emphasized. 

The opinions were presented by Nida Siddiqi, Faizan Ahmad, Insaram A Khan, Tanvi, students of the Bachelor of Architecture program, Roquiya of the Masters of Architecture program, Prachi Sharma, Abdullah Zuberi, Nabeel, Tushar Pandey and Nihal Kumar, students of the Master of Design program. The students were accompanied by Dr. Tawseeef Majeed, Ar. Madiha Rehman and Prof. Hina Zia from the faculty.
