Document Verification on August 17 and 18
AMU will begin document verification on August 17 and 18 after candidates submit their documents. Candidates who receive notification of document rejection due to poor quality, incorrect or incomplete documents will be allowed to submit the corrected documents on August 19. The university will conduct verification of these documents on August 20.
In order to avoid rejection, candidates need to upload clear, complete documents with the application. A document may be rejected, but this does not close the admission opportunity, as corrections may be submitted within the given time.
Firm List To Be Displayed on August 21
AMU will complete the verification and re-submission process and publish the firm admission list on August 21, 2026. Candidates whose names appear on the firm list, will be allowed to accept the admission offer and pay the admission fee between August 22 and August 24. August 25 will be the last day to pay the fee and accept the admission offer, with a final grace period and a fine.
Provisional Admission and Physical Verification
AMU will complete the counselling process through Physical Verification of the documents uploaded by candidates after the offer of Provisional Admission has been accepted. The verification process will be conducted in person at a date to be announced by the university.
AMU's Department of Law has listed Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Commercial Law, Family Law, Labour Law and others as PhD specialisations and currently has an indicative 89 seats, which may change each academic year.
Final Thoughts
AMU PhD in Law 2025-26 counselling schedule grants provisionally selected candidates clarity on the admission process for the new academic year. The first deadline is on August 16, after which candidates will need to keep track of document verification, the August 21 firm list, and the admission fee payment scheduled for August 22-24. The best way to secure admission is by letting nothing stand in the way of completing all online formalities as early as possible, ensuring documentation is clear, and keeping track on all subsequent processes. The admission claim will be forfeited if the deadline for the preliminary submission is missed.
