Lucknow : , Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) announced the launch of an undergraduate minor degree programme in Quantum Technologies — a pioneering step aligning education with India’s National Quantum Mission (NQM). The programme allows students from the 4th semester onwards to earn a minor degree in quantum technologies alongside their main degree, integrating both theoretical and laboratory coursework under a minimum 18-credit framework.
Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the initiative aims to build a highly skilled workforce capable of contributing to global quantum research and innovation. Students who complete the minor will graduate with a supplementary credential highlighting their specialised knowledge in areas such as quantum mechanics, computation, and information science — sectors expected to see strong growth in industry and research employment.
