New Delhi, India, The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), has officially released the detailed notification for the 10th edition of the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test, commonly known as NORCET-10. This national-level recruitment drive serves as the primary gateway for aspiring nursing professionals to secure Group B positions across various AIIMS institutions and several other premier central government hospitals throughout the country. With a substantial count of 2,551 vacancies announced in this cycle, the notification marks one of the most significant employment opportunities for the nursing community in 2026.

The recruitment process for these coveted positions is structured into a rigorous two-stage computer-based examination. According to the official schedule, the Stage-I (Preliminary) exam is slated for April 11, 2026, which will function primarily as a screening test to shortlist candidates for the next phase. Successful candidates from the first stage will then proceed to the Stage-II (Mains) examination scheduled for April 30, 2026. The final merit list and institute allocation will be determined based on the performance in the Stage-II exam, followed by a comprehensive document verification process to ensure all eligibility mandates are met.

To be eligible for the role of Nursing Officer (Level 07 in the Pay Matrix), candidates must possess a B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing from an institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council or the State Nursing Council. Alternatively, those with a B.Sc. (Post-Certificate) or Post-Basic B.Sc. Nurses are also encouraged to apply. The notification also extends eligibility to Diploma holders in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM), provided they have a minimum of two years of experience in a hospital with at least 50 beds after acquiring their educational qualification. The age limit for applicants is set between 18 and 30 years as of the closing date of applications, though standard age relaxations apply for reserved categories, including SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD candidates.

The application window will remain active until March 16, 2026, closing specifically at 5:00 PM. Interested candidates must complete their registration through the official AIIMS examination portal. The application fee is structured at ₹3,000 for General and OBC candidates, while SC, ST, and EWS applicants are required to pay ₹2,400. Notably, Persons with Disabilities are exempted from the application fee. AIIMS has also scheduled a correction window from March 25 to March 27, 2026, allowing candidates to rectify any deficiencies in their submitted forms before the final scrutiny.

This recruitment cycle represents a monumental opportunity for both fresh graduates and experienced diploma holders to integrate into India's premier healthcare network. Securing a position through NORCET-10 does not just offer a competitive salary under the Level 07 pay scale, but also provides a platform for immense professional growth, job security, and the chance to serve at institutions that are at the forefront of medical excellence. The inclusion of diverse institutions beyond AIIMS, such as the Central Government Hospitals in Delhi and specialized institutes like NITRD, ensures a broad spectrum of clinical environments for the selected officers.

At Eduadvice, we recognize the dedication required to excel in the healthcare sector. The NORCET-10 is a marathon, not a sprint, requiring a balanced focus on both nursing theory and clinical reasoning. We encourage all aspirants to begin their preparations early, focusing on the latest exam patterns that emphasize case-based scenarios. Stay disciplined, keep your documentation ready, and aim for excellence. We wish all the candidates the very best in their pursuit of a rewarding career at AIIMS.
