New Delhi: After the success of the second BARICON held in the year 2019 AIIMS has announced BARICON-3rd International Conference on Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery to be held from September 28 to October 1, 2022. There are many conferences being held in Bariatric Surgery across India but the AIIMS assurance of a great scientific content and inclusion of only reputed and experienced faculty as speakers is what makes this conference different. The theme of the Congress is "Maximizing Long Term Outcomes".

The meeting starts with the Cadaver course at AIIMS where a small group of 10-12 surgeons get hands-on experience on performing bariatric surgical procedures on a fresh cadaver. They will be mentored by experienced faculty with ample time for one-on-one interaction. On the 2nd day Operative workshop is planned with a variety of cases which will be performed by experienced faculty from India and abroad. The next two days are dedicated to debates and discussions with emphasis on long term outcomes. We have excellent speakers with most of them having a huge experience and publications in bariatric surgery.

The venue for Cadaveric workshop and the live operative workshop is AIIMS, New Delhi. The main congress on September 30 and October 1, 2022 will be held at the Taj Vivanta Hotel, Dwarka, which is close to Delhi's international (IGI) airport. There will be two parallel halls on both the days. There will be multiple sessions for Allied health professionals including bariatric coordinators, counselors, dietitians, psychologists, and physiotherapists specializing in care for bariatric surgery patients. There will be a session on manuscript writing and paper publishing as well.
