AI in Pharma: USFDA & EMA Perspectives | Central University of Haryana

Central University of Haryana’s Departments of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, and Biotechnology hosted an expert talk on AI in the drug cycle, focusing on recent USFDA and EMA regulatory perspectives.

Mahendergarh ; An expert talk on “AI in Pharmaceutical Drug Cycle: Recent USFDA and EMA Perspectives” was successfully organized on April 09, 2026, by the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in collaboration with the Departments of Biochemistry and Biotechnology at the Central University of Haryana, Mahendergarh.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, emphasized the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the pharmaceutical drug cycle, from drug discovery to post-marketing surveillance. He highlighted the significance of interdisciplinary approaches in modern scientific research and appreciated the initiative taken by the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in organizing such a valuable program for life science students.

Prof. Vipan Kumar Parihar, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Convener of the event, delivered the welcome address and outlined the objectives of the program. Prof.Antresh Kumar, Head of the Department of Biochemistry and Convener, stressed that interdisciplinary content delivery enhances the learning experience and broadens the academic perspective of students and researchers.

Dr. Manisha Pandey, Organizing Secretary, informed that the expert talk was specifically designed for postgraduate students and Ph.D. scholars in science disciplines. She also noted that students from various departments of the university actively participated in the session to deepen their understanding of AI applications in the drug development cycle.

Prof.RupeshDeshmukh, Head of the Department of Biotechnology and Convener, introduced the eminent speaker, Dr. P. S. Maruthi Sai, Pharmaceutical Expert Consultant. In his address, Dr. Maruthi Sai delivered an insightful lecture on the role of AI in the pharmaceutical drug development cycle. He explained how AI is transforming the industry by making processes faster, more accurate, and cost-effective. He further elaborated on the application of AI in drug discovery through the analysis of large datasets for identifying potential drug candidates and predicting their behavior.

The event also witnessed active contributions from Dr. Inderjeet Kaur, Dr. Tarun Kumar, and Dr. MulakaMaruthi in organizing and coordinating the program. Master’s and Ph.D. students from various departments attended the session and greatly benefited from the expert insights shared during the talk.
