Kolkata: Calcutta University has invited an application for admission to the PhD programme in Physics.
Department of Physics under University of Calcutta today have started the application procedure for the admission to PhD program in Physics. Application form for admission to PhD program in Physics is available on the official website of Calcutta University.
Applicant willing to apply for the admission can collect the form available on the official website of Calcutta University and can send the filled up application form to the head of the Physics department through the email address:retphysicscu2022@gmail.com along with scanned copies of :
- Caste Certificate (if available)
- NET/GATE/SLET/SET/Teacher Eligibility certificate (if applicable)
- SBI payment receipt
During the time of submission of application form candidates need to pay the application fee of rupees 100 to SBI collect (https://www.onlinesbi.com/sbicollect).
Essential qualification: M.Sc. in Physics
Candidates those who are eligible will appear in the written examination of 1 hour duration to be held on 10th May, 2022 at 11:00a.m. in Department of Physics, Calcutta University. Syllabus of the examination is MSc syllabus of Physics of Calcutta University excluding elective and advanced papers. Candidates those who will qualify the written examination will be called for an interview from May 10-12, 2022. The final selection and allocation of the supervisor will be done on the basis of this interview. Candidate those who have qualified in UGC/CSIR (JRF)/NET/SET/SLATE/GATE/Teacher eligibility or equivalent examination/already obtained the M.Phil degree would be exempted from the written test but have to appear for interview on the scheduled date.
Candidates qualifying RET Examination will not be ensured any form of fellowship from the University.

Final lists of eligible candidates for the interview those who will be qualifying through the written test will be published on 10th May, 2022.
