ADPSS Holds Grand World Teachers’ Day Event, Calls for Teachers’ Rights and Construction of ‘Shikshak Bhawan’

  New Delhi। On the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, the Akhil Delhi Primary Teachers’ Sangh (ADPSS) organised a grand and inspiring Teachers’ Felicitation Ceremony at Maharaja Surajmal Institute in the national capital.

 The event celebrated the contribution of teachers by honouring outstanding educators with shawls, certificates of appreciation and mementoes. The programme also witnessed extensive deliberations on teachers’ rights, welfare, working conditions and the challenges confronting government and rural education.
 The ceremony was presided over by Captain Singh, Chairperson of Maharaja Surajmal Institute, while Vinod Thakran, Working General Secretary of the All India Primary Teachers’ Federation (AIPTF)**, attended as the chief guest.
 
 Among the prominent guests were Jagdish Vig, Convenor of the Teachers’ Welfare Foundation; Nagendra Solanki, Chairperson of Venkateshwar School; former AIPTF Secretary Sandhya Sharma; and Meenakshi Nandal, daughter of late **Ratan Singh Mathur, who donated land for the teachers’ organisation’s building.
 
  ‘Shikshak Bhawan’ to Become Symbol of Unity and Struggle
 
 A major highlight of the programme was the ‘Ratan Singh Mathur Shikshak Bhawan, which is currently under construction in Delhi.  ADPSS Patron Ramchandra Dabas presented a detailed report on the progress of the building project. He said the proposed building was not merely a physical structure but would become a historic symbol of the unity, rights and collective platform of Delhi’s teaching community. 
 He appealed to teachers to contribute financially and ideologically to the project and make it a collective movement of the teaching fraternity.
 
 Responding to the appeal, chief guest Vinod Thakran announced a personal contribution of **₹51,000** towards the construction of the building. He also assured the gathering that the **RPSS, Haryana**, would extend all possible support to the project. The announcement was greeted with loud applause from the audience.
 
Teachers Are the Foundation of a Strong Society’
 
 Addressing the gathering, ADPSS Patron Giriraj Sharma said teachers were the true foundation of an advanced education system and a progressive nation. 
 He stressed the importance of organisational unity in addressing the problems faced by teachers and securing the respect they deserve. 
 The unity of the teaching community is our biggest strength in resolving teachers’ problems and securing their rightful respect,” he said, adding that the organisation’s struggle for better working conditions and social dignity for teachers would continue “from the streets to the legislature.
 
 Concern Over Challenges in Government and Rural Schools
 
 Presiding over the programme, Captain Singh expressed concern over the ground realities in government schools, particularly those located in rural areas. 
 He pointed out that several schools continue to face a shortage of teachers as well as inadequate basic infrastructure. He also emphasised the urgent need to create safe, secure and well-equipped school environments, particularly to encourage and support the education of girls.
 
 30 Teachers Honoured
 
 The concluding session of the ceremony saw 30 dedicated teachers honoured for their valuable contributions to education and the welfare of the teaching community. 
 The programme was attended by ADPSS General Secretary  Nisha Dahiya, Additional General Secretary Naveen Sangwan, Devendra Nain, Srinivas Tiwari, Devendra Mathur, Sushil Sharma, Suresh, Pawan Bansal, Sandhya Sharma, Sumitra, AIPTF Senior Vice-President **Seema Mathur, Meenakshi Nandal, and several other office-bearers and teacher representatives.
 
 The successful organisation of the event was supported by ADPSS Secretary Shamsuddin, Treasurer Vikram Singh, Working President Ravindra Pradhan, and numerous office-bearers and volunteers.  At the conclusion, the office-bearers unanimously resolved that **ADPSS would continue its efforts to provide Delhi’s teachers with a strong, united and effective platform and remain committed to safeguarding their rights, dignity and welfare.
