New Delhi: A Three-Day National Conference of Psychology Hosted by Department of Psychology, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR
The Department of Psychology, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR Campus, organized the 34th Annual Convention of the National Academy of Psychology (NAOP) from February 18–20, 2025. The convention brought together leading scholars and researchers to explore the evolving landscape of psychology. The esteemed dignitaries present included Fr. Dr. Viju P.D., Pro VC; Fr. Dr. Peter MV (Campus Administrator); Prof. Nachiketa Tripathi (President, NAOP, IIT Guwahati); and Prof. Tushar Singh (President-Elect, NAOP, BHU), who shared their perspectives on the role of psychology in contemporary society. The highlight of the inaugural session was the unveiling of the Abstract Book and the Children's Pictorial Measure of Social Cognitive Ability (CPMSCA). The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony featuring a keynote address by Dr. Mallika Shankar, Deputy Director, Indian Council of Social Science Research.
The Keynote addresses sparked engaging discussions, with Prof. Kiran Kumar advocating for a transdisciplinary approach, Prof. Ashish Pandey exploring Panchkosha Well-being, and Fr. Dr. Viju P. Devassy emphasizing positive psychology and peer support in higher education. Dr. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam (Member Parliament, Lok Sabha, JNU) delivered an insightful address on 'In Search of the Social: A Rendezvous for Psychologists and Sociologists,' exploring the intersection of psychological and sociological perspectives. The event also included research presentations, panel discussions, and workshops, fostering intellectual exchange and collaboration.
