June 22, 2026: Applications for the MA in Music and Data Science at the University of Leeds are open for the September 2026 intake. This course focuses on the study of both music and computer science. This is ideal for prospective students who possess the ability and willingness to combine knowledge of music and data science. Students will also learn from the faculty of the Business School and the Schools of Music and Computer Science.
Compared to other programs, this master’s is the first of its kind in Music and Data Science in the UK and will teach students the latest data science skills that the music industry requires. Students will learn both the art of data science and the science of data, and will have the ability and skills to analyze musical data and solve problems in data science within the music industry.
The School of Music and the School of Computer Science have both built industry connections, and students will have the freedom to choose the music courses they wish to undertake, which will help to define their career path. The School of Music has an Industrial Advisory Board, which helps to design the courses so that students will have the best chance of gaining employment.
