Teachers Are Nation-Builders, Says Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank at Teachers’ Day Ceremony

New Delhi: On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, former Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank participated as the chief guest at a Teacher Vandan and Felicitation Ceremony organised by the National Democratic Teachers’ Front (NDTF) at the Ramjas College Auditorium, University of Delhi.

Addressing teachers, students and educationists, Nishank highlighted the significant role of teachers in shaping society and building the nation. He said that teachers are not merely providers of knowledge but nation-builders who shape the future of the country and the character of the next generation.

He emphasised that through their dedication, discipline, values and commitment, teachers provide direction to society and contribute to creating a stronger sense of national consciousness.

The ceremony brought together several senior academics, educationists and representatives from student organisations. Among those present were Prof. Pawan Sinha, Professor at Motilal Nehru College and Spiritual Guru; Prof. Ajay Arora, Principal, Ramjas College; Shri Devdatt Joshi, National Co-Organization Minister, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad; Prof. Ajay Kumar Bhagi, President, NDTF; and Prof. Virendra Singh Negi, General Secretary, NDTF.

The Teacher Vandan and Felicitation Ceremony served as an occasion to recognise and honour the contribution of teachers to education and society.

The event also highlighted the importance of teachers as mentors and value-builders, whose influence extends beyond classrooms and plays an important role in nurturing responsible citizens and shaping the future of the country.
