NIU Launches Five-Day Faculty Development Programme on NCAHP Competency-Based Curriculum
Noida: The School of Allied & Healthcare Sciences (SOAHS), Noida International University (NIU), in collaboration with Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences (NIIMS), has commenced a five-day hands-on Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Capacity Building for Effective Implementation of the NCAHP Competency-Based Curriculum.”
Organised under the theme “One Nation–One Curriculum,” the programme aims to strengthen faculty understanding of the competency-based curriculum prescribed by the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) and support its effective implementation.

The programme brings together education and healthcare experts to discuss areas including:

Experts Discuss Changing Health Education Landscape
Dr. Kamal Pant, Chairperson, Uttar Pradesh State Allied & Healthcare Council and Member, NCAHP Task Force, delivered the keynote address on “Changing Landscape of Health Education.”
He highlighted the transformation taking place in healthcare education and the need for institutions to adopt contemporary academic approaches to prepare competent healthcare professionals.
Dr. Pant also stated that registration of students of the School of Allied & Healthcare Sciences under NCAHP in their respective states would be ensured, helping graduates pursue professional opportunities more effectively after completing their education.
He appreciated NIU's efforts to comply with NCAHP requirements and standards and emphasised the importance of standardised healthcare education.
NIU Emphasises Faculty Development
Prof. (Dr.) Uma Bhardwaj, Vice-Chancellor, Noida International University, highlighted the importance of competency-based education and systematic teaching approaches for preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Dr. Mukesh Parashar, Registrar, NIU, spoke about academic quality, institutional systems and the effective implementation of education reforms.
Prof. (Dr.) Supriya Awasthi, Dean, School of Allied & Healthcare Sciences, NIU, emphasised curriculum implementation, contemporary teaching practices and continuous faculty training.
The programme was organised under the guidance and support of Dr. Devesh Kumar Singh, Chairman, Noida International University, while Dr. Vikram Singh, Chancellor, NIU, stressed the importance of modern and progressive education in preparing healthcare students for evolving professional and social requirements.
Guest Session on Continuous Learning
Dr. Pawan Kumar Popli, NCAHP Professional Council Member and Task Force Member, also participated as a guest speaker.
He encouraged faculty members to pursue continuous learning, adopt emerging academic practices and focus on developing professional competencies among students.
The FDP will continue with practical and training-oriented sessions focused on the implementation of the NCAHP Competency-Based Curriculum.
The initiative reflects NIU's efforts to strengthen faculty capacity, academic quality and modern teaching practices in allied and healthcare education while contributing to the broader “One Nation–One Curriculum” vision.
