New Delhi. : The NEET PG examination scheduled at a centre in Jaipur on Sunday morning could not begin at the scheduled time of 9 am, with candidates reportedly facing server-related problems and repeated power disruptions at the examination centre.
The computer-based examination was scheduled to be held from 9 am to 12 noon. However, candidates at the centre said that the examination had not started even after the scheduled commencement time. The situation led to frustration among the aspirants, who staged a protest and demanded a clear statement from the authorities on whether the examination would be conducted.
According to people present at the centre, server connectivity issues and repeated power interruptions were affecting the conduct of the computer-based examination. Candidates demanded that the authorities provide an immediate clarification rather than keeping them waiting without information.
Second Major Exam Disruption in Jaipur in August
The incident is particularly significant as this is the second reported disruption of a major entrance examination at a Jaipur centre within a matter of days.
Earlier, on August 22, 2026, the AIAPGET examination was disrupted at a Jaipur centre because of a power-related issue. Following the disruption, a specific re-examination was scheduled for the 49 affected candidates on September 1, 2026.
With another examination now facing technical and power-related problems at a Jaipur centre, questions are once again being raised over the preparedness, infrastructure and contingency arrangements for computer-based examinations.
The repeated incidents have also put the National Testing Agency (NTA) under renewed scrutiny. While technical or power failures can occur at examination centres, candidates and stakeholders are likely to question why adequate backup systems and contingency measures were not sufficient to prevent disruptions or minimise their impact.
For candidates who prepare for months for highly competitive medical entrance examinations, disruption at the examination centre can cause significant stress and uncertainty. The authorities therefore face the challenge of ensuring that such incidents do not compromise the fairness and credibility of the examination process.
Candidates at the Jaipur centre are now awaiting an official clarification from NTA and the examination authorities regarding the status of today's NEET PG examination and what remedial measures, if any, will be taken for affected candidates.
NTA scheduled a re-examination for 49 candidates
The National Testing Agency (NTA) scheduled a re-examination for 49 candidates after a power failure disrupted the AIAPGET 2026 exam at Shri Satya Sai PG College in Jaipur on August 22.
