Jaipur : JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU) welcomed its newest batch of students at ‘Parichay 2026’, its annual freshers’ celebration that brought together music, dance, fashion and student performances.
The event marked another milestone for the new cohort following ‘Aarambh 2026’, the university’s induction programme held last month. While Aarambh introduced students to JKLU’s academic environment, campus facilities and support systems, Parichay provided a platform for students to express themselves and showcase their talents beyond academics.
JKLU Freshers’ Event Features Music, Dance and Fashion
The evening began with addresses by Dr. Vijaysekhar Chellaboina, Vice Chancellor, JKLU, and senior academic leaders.
Students then participated in a range of activities and performances, including:
- Dance performances
- Ramp walk
- Live music
- Student talent showcases
- Prize distribution
- DJ night
The event also featured a live performance by the band “Others & Poetry”, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
JKLU Emphasises Holistic Student Development
Speaking at the event, Dr. Vijaysekhar Chellaboina said that the university encourages students to pursue their interests and participate in activities beyond the classroom.
He highlighted creativity, curiosity, collaboration and self-expression as important components of holistic student development and said events such as Parichay provide students with opportunities to explore these dimensions of their personality.
The university said the event reflected its belief that students should not be defined only by their academic achievements but should also have opportunities to develop and showcase their diverse interests and capabilities.
Parichay 2026: Freshers’ Titles Announced
Several first-year students were recognised for their performances during the freshers’ event.
- Mr. Fresher: Aniruddh Vardhan Singh
- Ms. Fresher: Gorangi Pareek
- Dance King: Namay Gupta
- Dance Queen: Priyam Goyal
- Show Stopper: Pranshway Purohit
The titles recognised students for their confidence, stage presence and performance skills.
JKLU Promotes Learning Beyond the Classroom
The university stated that initiatives such as Parichay complement academic learning by giving students opportunities to participate in cultural activities, collaborate with peers and build confidence.
JKLU, an initiative of the 140-year-old JK Group, offers interdisciplinary programmes spanning design, engineering and management, with an emphasis on combining academic learning with industry exposure and innovation.
The event concluded with a celebration of the new cohort and highlighted JKLU’s broader focus on developing well-rounded students equipped with academic knowledge as well as creativity, confidence and interpersonal skills.
