IIT Roorkee, Uttarakhand Police Hold Workshop on AI for Smart Policing
Dehradun,: IIT Roorkee’s Continuing Education Centre (CEC), in collaboration with Uttarakhand Police, organised a half-day workshop on “AI for Smart Policing” at the Police Headquarters in Dehradun.
The workshop brought together faculty members from IIT Roorkee and senior officials of the Uttarakhand Police to explore the growing role of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies in modern policing.
Discussions during the workshop covered the potential applications of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, cybersecurity and other emerging technologies across various aspects of policing. Key areas included crime analysis, investigation, intelligent surveillance, digital evidence, decision support and day-to-day policing.
IIT Roorkee Faculty Share Insights on Emerging Technologies
Prof. Soumitra Satapathi, Coordinator, Continuing Education Centre (CEC), IIT Roorkee, along with Prof. Sudip Roy and Prof. Raghvendra Singh, shared insights into AI tools, cybersecurity and emerging technology solutions that can support law enforcement agencies.
The workshop provided an opportunity for participants to discuss how technology can be responsibly integrated into policing while addressing emerging challenges related to cybersecurity, digital information and technology-enabled crime.
