IIT Guwahati Felicitates Four Faculty Members with Young Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award 2026

• Four faculty members recognised for outstanding contributions to teaching on Teachers’ Day

Guwahati: On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati felicitated four faculty members with the Young Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award 2026, recognising their outstanding contributions to teaching and academic excellence.

The awardees are:

• Ajeet Kumar — Department of Design
• Anirban Dasgupta — Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
• Sajan Kapil — Department of Mechanical Engineering
• Santu Kar — Department of Civil Engineering

The felicitation ceremony was held at the Senate Hall, IIT Guwahati. The event featured addresses by the Dean of Faculty Affairs, the Director and the Dean of Administration, followed by remarks from the award recipients.

The Young Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award recognises faculty members who have demonstrated notable commitment to teaching and contributed to creating meaningful and effective learning experiences for students.

The four faculty members from the Departments of Design, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering were honoured for their contributions to teaching at IIT Guwahati.

The occasion also highlighted the important role of faculty members in shaping students’ academic journeys and fostering excellence in higher education.

The institute congratulated Ajeet Kumar, Anirban Dasgupta, Sajan Kapil and Santu Kar on receiving the Young Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award 2026 and acknowledged their contributions to teaching and student development.
