AMD and Delhi University Join Hands to Build Next-Generation AI Talent Pool
New Delhi : AMD and the University of Delhi have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at equipping students and faculty with industry-relevant artificial intelligence (AI) skills and practical experience.
The partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two organisations. As part of the collaboration, AMD will introduce its AI Engage Developer Program at Delhi University, providing students and faculty with access to the company’s open-source ROCm™ AI software platform, learning resources and developer GPU cloud credits.
The initiative aims to train up to 10,000 students over the next year, enabling them to develop, test and deploy AI applications using industry-grade tools and platforms.
AMD to Provide AI Learning and Development Resources
Under the collaboration, students and faculty members will receive access to a range of resources designed to strengthen practical AI learning. These will include:
- AMD’s AI-focused learning curriculum
- Technical workshops and training sessions
- Access to open-source AI software ecosystems
- Developer GPU cloud resources
- Hands-on opportunities to experiment with AI technologies
- Resources to support AI research and innovation
The programme is intended to help students move beyond theoretical understanding of AI and gain practical experience in developing real-world applications.

Speaking about the collaboration, Jaya Jagadish, Country Head & SVP Engineering, AMD India, said India has both the talent and ambition to play a leading role in the next phase of AI innovation.
She highlighted the importance of giving students early exposure to the platforms and tools used in real-world AI development. According to her, the collaboration with Delhi University reflects AMD’s long-term commitment to strengthening India’s AI ecosystem and developing future-ready technology talent.
