CUH Concludes 39th NEP 2020 Orientation and Sensitization Programme
New Delhi, September 3, 2026: The UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (UGC-MMTTC) at the Central University of Haryana (CUH) has successfully concluded its 39th NEP 2020 Orientation and Sensitization Programme, organised in collaboration with Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Delhi.
The programme was conducted from August 24 to September 2, 2026, with the patronage and leadership of Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Haryana. His continued encouragement and focus on strengthening the quality of higher education supported the academic initiatives undertaken by the UGC-MMTTC.
The programme also received guidance and institutional support from Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Pro Vice-Chancellor, CUH, whose academic vision contributed to its successful organisation.
Prof. Nandita Shukla Singh Addresses Valedictory Session
The valedictory session featured Prof. Nandita Shukla Singh, Former Head, Department of Education, Panjab University, Punjab, as the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker.
Addressing the participants on the Indian Knowledge System, Prof. Nandita Shukla Singh highlighted the significance of India’s intellectual and cultural heritage, particularly the teachings of the Vedas and Upanishads.
She discussed concepts including “Ekam Sat Vipra Bahudha Vadanti,” karma, rebirth, moksha, holistic living and collective well-being, while underlining their relevance to contemporary education and society.
The session also drew attention to India's traditions of intellectual humility, tolerance, ethical scholarship and harmony with nature. The discussion emphasised the importance of bringing Indian knowledge traditions into modern education while retaining their deeper values and principles.
Focus on Quality Higher Education
The NEP 2020 Orientation and Sensitization Programme forms part of efforts to strengthen awareness and understanding of the National Education Policy 2020 among educators and academic stakeholders.
Through such programmes, the UGC-MMTTC seeks to encourage educators to engage with emerging approaches in higher education and contribute to the transformation of India's education ecosystem.
The programme concluded with Prof. Tanu Gupta, Deputy Director, UGC-MMTTC and Head, Department of English & Foreign Languages, CUH, expressing gratitude to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, and Chief Guest Prof. Nandita Shukla Singh for their guidance and support.
The successful completion of the 39th programme reinforces CUH's efforts to promote professional development, academic dialogue and the effective implementation of NEP 2020 in higher education.
