New Delhi. : The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer keys and question papers with recorded responses for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 examination. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now check their recorded responses and challenge the provisional answer key through the official website, csirnet.nta.nic.in.

The Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 examination was conducted on July 17 and 18, 2026, in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The examination was held across 224 cities and 352 examination centres for around 1,87,739 registered candidates.

Candidates who are not satisfied with any answer mentioned in the provisional answer key can submit objections within the prescribed deadline.

CSIR UGC NET Answer Key 2026: Challenge Dates

The answer key challenge window opened on August 16, 2026, and candidates can submit challenges until August 18, 2026, up to 11:00 PM.

The processing fee of ₹200 per question challenged is non-refundable. NTA has clarified that no challenge will be considered unless the prescribed processing fee is successfully paid.

How to Challenge CSIR UGC NET June 2026 Answer Key

Candidates can follow these steps to submit their objections:

  1. Visit the official website at csirnet.nta.nic.in.

  2. Click on “Challenge(s) regarding Answer Key”.

  3. Log in using your Application Number and Password, and enter the displayed captcha.

  4. Click on “View Question Paper” to check your marked or recorded responses.

  5. To view and challenge the answer key, click on “Click to view / Challenge Answer Key”.

  6. Locate the relevant question using its Question ID.

  7. Select one or more Option IDs that you wish to challenge by clicking the corresponding checkbox.

  8. If required, upload supporting documents. All supporting documents must be combined into one PDF file of maximum 500 KB.

  9. Click on “Submit and Review Claims” after selecting the required options.

  10. Review the summary of all Question IDs and options challenged.

  11. If necessary, click on “Modify Claim” to revise your selections.

  12. Once the claims are finalized, click on “Save Claim and Pay Fee”.

  13. Click on “Pay Now” and proceed to the payment gateway.

  14. Pay the non-refundable fee of ₹200 for each question challenged through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking or UPI.

  15. After successful payment, the challenge will be considered submitted.

Candidates should carefully review their objections before making the payment. NTA has stated that this is a one-time facility, and no further opportunity will be provided after final submission or successful payment.

What Happens After CSIR NET Answer Key Challenge?

The challenges submitted by candidates will be examined by a panel of subject experts. If a challenge is found to be correct, the provisional answer key will be revised and the revised answer will be applied to the responses of all candidates concerned.

The CSIR UGC NET result will be prepared on the basis of the revised final answer key. NTA will not individually inform candidates whether their challenges have been accepted or rejected. The answer key finalized by the subject experts after the challenge process will be considered final.
