Azim Premji Scholarship 2026: 20,000 Delhi Girls to Get ₹30,000 Annually for Higher Education
New Delhi, August 26, 2026: The Azim Premji Foundation has announced the launch of the Azim Premji Scholarship for Delhi (NCT), which will support up to 20,000 girls pursuing higher education in the National Capital this year.
Under the scholarship programme, each selected student will receive ₹30,000 per year, starting from the first year of college and continuing until she completes her undergraduate degree or diploma.
Depending on the duration of the programme, students can receive financial support of up to ₹1.5 lakh over two to five years.
Scholarship Can Be Used for Education Expenses
The scholarship amount can be used towards college fees and other education-related expenses, helping students meet some of the financial challenges associated with higher education.
The initiative is part of the Foundation's broader effort to improve access to higher education for girls.
Eligibility for Azim Premji Scholarship
The scholarship is open to girls who have completed their schooling in any of 21 States and Union Territories covered under the programme.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Have completed Class 10 and Class 12 in a government school in one of the eligible States/UTs.
- Have secured admission to the first year of an undergraduate degree or diploma course.
- Be enrolled at a recognised institution anywhere in India.
- Meet the other eligibility requirements specified by the Foundation.

Scholarship Programme Launched in 2024
The Azim Premji Scholarship was launched in 2024 and has since provided support to more than 1.9 lakh girls.
The Foundation aims to eventually support up to 5 lakh girls across India every year.
As most undergraduate programmes have a duration of around three years and students continue receiving support throughout their course, the Foundation estimates that nearly 15 lakh girls could have an active scholarship at any given time once the programme reaches its intended scale.
Application Process
The application process for the Azim Premji Scholarship is completely online and free of cost.
Eligible students can submit their applications only through the official Azim Premji Foundation website. Applicants should avoid paying fees to third parties or relying on unofficial websites for scholarship applications.
