Amrit Udyan Opens Till September 15; Special Access for Teachers and Sports Persons

Amrit Udyan Summer Annuals Edition 2026: CBSE Invites Schools and Colleges for Educational Visit

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has informed schools and colleges about the opening of Amrit Udyan at Rashtrapati Bhavan for the general public during the Summer Annuals Edition 2026.

Amrit Udyan will remain open from August 16 to September 15, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the last entry at 5:00 PM. The Udyan will remain closed on Mondays.

CBSE has encouraged educational institutions to motivate students and teachers to visit the gardens and explore their botanical, environmental and educational features.

Explore Indigenous and Native Plants

The Summer Annuals Edition 2026 will showcase a variety of indigenous and native flowering plants, offering visitors an opportunity to experience their vibrant colours and ecological importance.

The landscaped gardens feature a range of attractions, including:

  • Central Garden
  • Long Garden
  • Circular Garden
  • Floral Clock
  • Babbling Brook
  • Herbal Garden
  • Plumeria Garden
  • Banyan Grove

Visitors can also explore a landscaped water stream featuring cascades, sculptural spouts, stepping stones and a raised reflecting pool.

Attractions for Children

Amrit Udyan also includes attractions designed to encourage children to learn about nature and the environment.

These include:

  • Bal Vatika, based on the story of a 225-year-old Sheesham tree
  • Treehouse
  • Nature's Classroom

The gardens are designed to provide visitors with opportunities to experience diverse flora and learn about the natural environment.

Special Access for Sports Persons and Teachers

The President of India has decided that August 29, 2026, will be celebrated as National Sports Day at Rashtrapati Bhavan and September 5, 2026, as Teachers' Day.

On these two days, Amrit Udyan will be open exclusively to sports persons and teachers, respectively.

Visitors will be required to carry a valid identity card for entry on the respective special days.

CBSE Issues Guidelines for Educational Visits

CBSE has shared detailed instructions for schools and colleges planning visits to Amrit Udyan.

Educational institutions have been encouraged to make use of the opportunity and enable students and teachers to experience the botanical, environmental and educational features of the gardens.

Schools and colleges are advised to follow the instructions issued for institutional visits and plan their visit accordingly.
