Kolkata: University of Calcutta has announced to all that Online applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens for admission to the 1st Semester of the 2-year LL.M./M.Sc./M.A. in Human Rights, a self-financing course for the academic session 2024-2025. 

The total number of seats available for this program is 30, offering a unique opportunity for students interested in advancing their knowledge and expertise in the field of human rights.

 It is important to note that the application form will not be available at the University Sales Counter, nor can it be downloaded from any other source.


This ensures that all applications are submitted through the designated online platform, streamlining the admission process and making it more efficient for both the applicants and the university.

 Eligibility :
 1) B.Sc./B.A./B.Com. with Honours
2) 5-Year B.A.LL.B./ 3-Year LL.B. /4 or 5-Year Bachelor Degree in any Professional 
Course. 

Application Fees : Rs. 400/-(Non refundable) for General/EWS and 
 Rs. 200/-(Non refundable) for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD

The admission process for the LL.M./M.Sc./M.A. in Human Rights program will involve a Physical Counseling session following an entrance test. The entrance test is scheduled to take place on December 1, 2024, and will have a total duration of 2 hours, during which candidates will be assessed for a total of 100 marks. 


The syllabus for the entrance test is divided into two groups: Group A will cover Human Rights Laws, while Group B will focus on Human Rights in Anthropology and Sociology. Each group will consist of 25 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with each question carrying 2 marks. This structure is designed to evaluate the candidates' understanding and knowledge of both legal frameworks and the sociocultural aspects of human rights. It is crucial for prospective students to prepare thoroughly for this entrance test, as performance in this assessment will play a significant role in the admission process. After the test, successful candidates will be invited to participate in the Physical Counseling, where they can finalize their admission based on their test scores and available seats.

i) Self attested photo copy of Bachelor degree final Year Pass Mark Sheet ( If final mark sheet is not consolidated then all mark sheet in a single file.)
ii) Self attested photo copy of EWS/SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B certificate if applicable obtained from Govt. of West Bengal only.(Certificate from other state will apply as General Candidate)
iii) Self attested photocopy copy of PWD Certificate if applicable.
iv) Certificate/Diploma in Human Rights and /or Experience Certificate if any in Human Rights and Social Issues.

Entrance Merit List and Category wise Seat Capacity with Physical Counselling Schedule will be published in due course at the portal only. Any changes will be published at the portal only.
