St. Vivekanand Senior Secondary School Celebrates Guru Nanak Jayanti and Founder’s Birthday with Spiritual Fervour

New Delhi, November 4, 2025: St. Vivekanand Senior Secondary School celebrated Guru Parv, the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, with deep reverence, devotion, and spiritual enthusiasm. The school campus was beautifully decorated to resemble a Gurudwara Sahib, creating an ambiance of peace, divinity, and devotion.

The celebration began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by the soulful recitation of Ek Onkar and Gurbani Kirtan by students — “Kripa Teri Gun Gaawan” and “Asa Di Vaar.” Their melodious voices filled the atmosphere with serenity and inspiration, embodying the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

The event was graced by Gurudwara Sahib Granthi Ji and Mr. H. P. Singh as the chief guests. Granthi Ji shared spiritual insights from the Guru’s teachings, emphasizing the three pillars of Sikhism — Kirat Karo (honest living), Vand Chhako (sharing with others), and Naam Japna (remembering Waheguru). The program also included Ardas and the Bhog ceremony, followed by the respectful distribution of Kada Prasad.

Tribute to the School’s Visionary Founder

The occasion also marked the birthday of the school’s founder, Shrimati Kamal Rai Punj Ji, affectionately known as “Badi Ma’am.” Born on November 4 1939, in Phillaur (Pakistan), she established the institution in 1977 with a mission to serve society through education. Her lifelong dedication and compassion have guided generations of students and educators.

Addressing the gathering, Badi Ma’am blessed the students and encouraged them to uphold values of honesty, discipline, and compassion in their lives.

The Principal expressed heartfelt gratitude to Granthi Ji and Mr. H. P. Singh for their enlightening presence and commended the students and teachers for organizing such a meaningful event.

The celebration beautifully reflected the timeless messages of Guru Nanak Dev Ji — Truth, Equality, and Service to Humanity, while also honoring the legacy of the school’s founder who continues to inspire its educational journey.
