Golden Jubilee Reunion: IIT Roorkee 1975 Batch Gives Back
Roorkee, : Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee celebrated the Golden Jubilee Reunion of its 1975 alumni batch, marking 50 years of friendship, professional excellence, and enduring association with their Alma Mater. More than 250 alumni, along with their families, returned to campus to relive memories and reconnect with the institute that shaped their journeys.
In a remarkable gesture of gratitude, the 1975 batch pledged contributions worth approximately ₹45 lakh towards strengthening campus infrastructure and healthcare facilities. The support includes the procurement of two electric carts (E-Carts) to improve eco-friendly internal mobility for students, staff, and visitors. The batch is also considering funding a hi-tech ultrasound machine for the campus hospital, aimed at enhancing diagnostic capabilities and healthcare services for the IIT Roorkee community.
Appreciating the gesture, Director Prof. K.K. Pant said that the 1975 batch continues to exemplify the deep and lasting bond alumni share with IIT Roorkee, adding that such contributions significantly enrich the campus environment. Dean of Resources & Alumni Affairs Prof. R.D. Garg also acknowledged the batch’s generosity, noting that their support sets a strong benchmark for alumni engagement and institutional development.
Beyond celebrations and reunions, the Golden Jubilee highlighted the powerful role alumni play in shaping IIT Roorkee’s future. The unity, generosity, and commitment displayed by the 1975 batch stand as a lasting testament to the institute’s rich legacy and evolving vision.
