
New Delhi: Students of ASN Senior Secondary School, Mayur Vihar-I participated in the prestigious *‘Gyanotsav-2079’* at the Indian Institute of Agriculture (Pusa). The theme of the three-day Gyanotsav was *'Self-reliant India with Education.'* Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, an organisation working for the promotion of Indian education on all-India level, and in collaboration with various educational institutions belonging to the Ministry of Education, organised ‘Gyanotsav-2079’.

Students of ASN gave a heartwarming performance through a dance balled at the opening ceremony on the song *'Jag mein Sarvottam, Swarg Se Sunder, Aisa Mera Bharat Ho'* depicting the glory of our magnificent country, India. Through their performance they showcased the rich heritage and culture of our Nation. They also showed how the whole face of India is altering with the change in time, but the cultural traditions continue and it will never back.
School Principal, Ms Swarnima Luthra also shared her views through a presentation on innovations by schools. She highlighted how the learners are provided with integrated learning i.e. having the knowledge of every discipline which is the essence of this policy.
Dr. Atul Kothari, Secretary, Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, in his address said that after a long gap of 34 years, India centric, democratic and student centric National Education Policy has been issued. Even after the formulation of this policy, there is a need for a comprehensive discussion on the policy, so that all the people associated with the education world can understand this policy well so that the way for its proper implementation can be paved.
Special consideration was given in Gyanotsav 2079 on this subject to make students, educational institutions and the country self-reliant through education. There were mainly three subjects in this. First, skill development, start-up and research in education, second – Implementation of National Education Policy-2020 and thirdly- The role of educational institutions in self-reliant India.
The discussion focused on how educational institutions can contribute towards making the country self-reliant through community engagement, start-ups and development in education and research. Around 800-1000 Vice Chancellors, Directors, Senior Educationists, Heads of Educational Institutions from across the country were invited to this event.
