IGNOU Launches M.A. and PG Diploma in Environmental and Occupational Health (MAEOH)

 

 

New Delhi. : The School of Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Studies, IGNOU has launched M.A. Environmental and Occupational Health (ODL mode) & Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental and Occupational Health(Online) entering into a new era by introducing a Master Programme in the environment and occupational health. IGNOU is one of the few to offer an MA program in this field across the globe and the first university in India.

His excellency Hon'ble Governor Shri Ramesh Bais, Hon’ble Governor, Jharkhand Govt. of India launched  M.A. Environmental and Occupational Health (ODL Mode) & Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental and Occupational Health(Online) today that is on 13th January 2022 through virtual mode. He appreciated and congratulated IGNOU,  Vice-Chancellor Prof.Nageshwar Rao, and his entire team for securing NAAC A++( ) grade. He emphasized that these programs are in line with the mission of Environmental and Occupational Health to reduce and prevent adverse effects on human health caused by environmental and occupational exposures to such as chemical and biological contaminants through education and research. He also said that this program will provide the theoretical understanding and transferable skills to the general public and industrial workers in particular.

Dr. A.Suresh, Minister for Education, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh expressed his appreciation by saying that these programmes are of utmost importance for global environmental health and would help in creating awareness for the same.

Vice-chancellor Prof. Nageshwar Rao in his address said that IGNOU is a pioneer institution to follow NEP and promote multidisciplinary programmes. He also emphasized these programmes are in consonance with the New Education Policy. Today, IGNOU serves the educational aspirations of over 3.6 million students in India and other countries through 21 Schools of Studies and a network of 67 Regional Centres, around 2,000 Learner Support Centres, and 20 overseas institutions, Prof. Rao informed the dignitaries present.

These programmes are coordinated by Prof.B.Rupini, Dr. Sushmitha Baskar, and Prof.Ruchika Kuba of the School of Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Studies and School of Health Sciences, IGNOU.
