World Pharmacists Day Celebrated at CUH

On this occasion, Slogan and Poster making competition under the theme “Pharmacy strengthening health systems-ANGDAAN MAHADAAN in the University.

 Haryana :- World Pharmacists Day was celebrated on 25th Sept. 2023 in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh. The day marked as World Pharmacists Day globally falls on September 25 every year. It is an event celebrated by pharmacists across the world to highlight the value of the pharmacy and pharmacy professionals on improving health. Federation of International Pharmacists (FIP) and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) encourages pharmacists to use this day to organize activities that promote and advocate for the role of the pharmacist in improving health in every corner of the world. This year PCI has decided to celebrate World Pharmacists Day on the theme “Pharmacy strengthening health systems-ANGDAAN MAHADAAN” with the objective to aware and convince the people to come forward for organ donation. Under this event, students, faculties and non-teaching staff of the University were motivated for organ donation. Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Tankeshwar Kumar said Organ donation is a noble act that could give a ray of hope to another person's life who is suffering through many years because of the failure of a particular organ or organ.

Prof. (Dr.) NeelamSangwan, Dean SIAS and Dean Research informed that this program increase the willing participation of adults to sign for organ donation. Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Head and convener of the event informed the participants about the contribution of pharmacist towards patient care in our society. Further, he said, each potent donor can save up to eight lives who are in need of organs such as the liver, kidneys, intestine, lungs, heart, and pancreas. In addition, it vastly improves the quality of life for countless more by donating bone, skin, heart valves, cornea etc. Further, tree plantation campaign was also conducted in the University. More than 200 students, faculties and non-teaching staff registered themselves as registered organ donor. On this occasion, Slogan and Poster making competition under the theme “Pharmacy strengthening health systems-ANGDAAN MAHADAAN in the University. Dr. Sumit Kumar, Dr. Tarun Kumar, Dr. Ashok Jangra, Dr. Manisha Pandey actively participated in this event.
