New Delhi.; The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued formal notices to 54 state private universities across India for failing to comply with the Public Self-Disclosure by Higher Education Institutions, 2024 guidelines. Despite repeated reminders, these institutions did not upload mandatory information on their websites, undermining transparency and accountability in higher education.
The guidelines, introduced on June 10, 2024, require institutions to provide key details—such as academic programmes, faculty strength, infrastructure, and governance—on their official websites, accessible without login.

This move highlights a broader effort by regulators to enforce transparency and accountability in India’s higher education sector.
