UGC issued a circular to fill non teaching posts in DU colleges and gave another extension.

New Delhi :- Forum of Academics for Social Justice, while expressing happiness over UGC giving extension to colleges for filling non-academic posts under the OBC Expansion Scheme, has demanded the university administration to fill them immediately and has said that the way Delhi The process of permanent appointment of teachers has been going on in the university for the last one and a half years. In the same way, non-academic posts were filled with promptness. Let us tell you that under the OBC Expansion Scheme (OBC Expansion Scheme), UGC had issued instructions to fill these posts till March 31, 2023, giving an extension of one year. Now UGC has extended the deadline for filling these posts and has again given extension for one year. .

Forum Chairman Dr. Hansraj Suman has said that University Grants Commission (UGC) Under Secretary Veena Menon has written a letter to the principals of all the colleges and notified that non-academic posts of OBCs will be filled in the colleges under Delhi University. Regarding extension of time limit, it has been said that in this regard, applications are being received from the colleges under Delhi University that the time limit for filling these posts should be extended. Dr. Suman says that on behalf of UGC it has been said that till now we have given instructions to extend the deadline a total of seven times, however, taking cognizance of this, the OBC non-academic posts applicable in colleges are being filled. Regarding further extension of the deadline, it has been forwarded to the Ministry of Education for recommendation. UGC has already given extension to fill these posts.

Dr. Suman has told that even before this, the UGC had issued a circular on 26 April 2022 to the Registrar of Delhi University and the Principals of the colleges, asking them to fill the posts of OBC Expansion under the special drive by 31 March 2023, but the Principals had not filled these posts till 31 March 2023. No promptness was shown in filling it. Although some college principals did not even issue advertisements to fill these posts, the college principals who issued advertisements to fill these posts did not fill these posts on the pretext of truncated governing body whereas in the past, permanent recruitment was done through the truncated governing body. Appointments have been taking place on teachers and non-academic posts. He has told that UGC has already given extension seven times to fill these OBC expansion posts, yet they were not filled. Dr. Suman says that UGC should take strict action against such colleges which do not fill the OBC expansion posts and cut off their grants.

Dr. Hansraj Suman has told that ever since the principals of the colleges have received the UGC circular, the principals and liaison officers are checking the roster of their respective colleges and finding out how many posts are available in their colleges under the OBC Expansion Scheme. To be filled. He has told that some colleges had issued advertisements to fill these non-teaching posts but did not fill these posts on the pretext of truncated governing body. He has requested the Chairman of the Truncated Governing Body of Delhi Government Colleges to instruct the Principals to prepare the roster register and after getting it passed by the University Administration, issue advertisements as soon as possible and fill them. Dr. Suman has said that the guidelines sent by the UGC to the colleges have been extended again, extending the time limit for filling the approved non-academic posts.

Dr. Suman has also demanded from the acting and officiating principals of the colleges that they should follow the guidelines issued by the UGC regarding filling the sanctioned posts of OBC quota as soon as possible to fill the OBC posts in their respective colleges. After getting it passed, advertisements for these posts were published. He also says that the colleges which do not fill these posts under the OBC Extension Scheme, UGC should stop their grants because they have been given extensions several times under the OBC Extension Scheme. UGC is repeatedly extending the deadline to fill these posts.
