In his inaugural address the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar said that the perspective of seeing development and social change is always like looking in a mirror.

A two-day national seminar on ‘Development and Social Change@75: A Reflection' is being organized by the Department of Sociology, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh. In his inaugural address the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar said that the perspective of seeing development and social change is always like looking in a mirror. If we look at it straight, we get to see the correct form, whereas if we look at it obliquely or upside down, the image seen is seen in a different form. The same rule is also applicable at the level of development and social change. Prof. Abdul Matin from Aligarh Muslim University and Prof. BimolAkoijam from Jawaharlal Nehru University were present as experts in the inaugural session of the event.

Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar said that when we observe the journey of 75 years of independence at the level of development and social change, all kinds of aspects come before us. Have the courage to make the better and better and try to improve by taking lessons from the shortcomings. Some people become partners in the journey of every development and change and strive for the better and some people become critical of that positive effort and keep exposing its weak and bad side. As per my understanding, to improve it is necessary to know the shortcomings but for this it is necessary that you move forward with positive thinking. At the level of social changes, one cannot move forward by always adopting a critical attitude with reverse thinking. In his address, the Vice-Chancellor described this event important from the point of view of the development journey so far and said that it would definitely help us in planning for the future. In the inauguration of the program Dr. T. Longkoi, member of the organizing committee and in-charge of the department, presented the theme and outline of the event. In this sequence, she told that in this two-day program various aspects of development and social change will be discussed in detail. Dr. Yudhvir, Dr. Reema Gill and Ms. TanviBhati played an important role in organizing the seminar.
